Hi, I’m Julie—and I created this podcast and space for one simple reason:

Because the first days, weeks, and months after a prostate cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming. And they shouldn’t have to.

I’m walking this healing path with my amazing husband, and I know what it’s like to search for answers late at night. To try to help someone you love. To feel like there’s no clear roadmap.

This Substack and podcast were born from that place—and from a deep belief that you’re not just waiting—you’re healing.

Why I’m Doing This

I’m not a doctor—but I am a functional medicine health coach, a college professor who loves researching, and a wife walking this healing path with my incredible partner.

I’m also a home cook who finds joy in farmers’ markets and using food as medicine. And I believe deeply in the power of daily habits, emotional support, stress relief, and real food to transform your health.

I created this space because I didn’t want people to feel as alone as we once did. And because there’s so much you can do to support your healing—starting today.

Here’s what I believe:

If your goal is to avoid surgery—or even radiation—you have to take charge.
You have to empower yourself.
No one else is going to do it for you.

You have to ask yourself:
Am I going to be passive… or am I going to participate in my healing?

Personally, I’d much rather take action—real, research-backed action—than just wait and hope. And I know I’m not alone.

As humans, we are wired to thrive. To heal. And we can—if we give our bodies the right tools. I believe lifestyle medicine can absolutely transform your situation.
